Well, as you can see I'm trying a different style of shading.
It's primarily a time-saving measure--the pages are graphically quite complicated already, using a lot of layers in photoshop to get things like the darkness effects, and so a less subtle way of shading is a way of simplifying that (though, ironically, this method takes up an extra layer). I think, though, that I like the effect--it's a lot less subtle, true, but the starker contrast between light and shadow looks fairly dramatic. The main problem is that it's going to be harder to vary the amount of shadow. I'll play about with it a bit more, but I'd be interested in hearing what you think.

I bought Spore this weekend. It is eating my mind.
