The lighting in this scene has the odd effect of making everything look slightly trippy, so let me state for the record that the two men talking, Jason and Alex, aren't smoking anything other than tobacco.

The creepy robot dolls in the second panel were inspired by asian ball jointed dolls, and their designs are anime influenced, so I had to really remind myself that not everyone would know what was meant if I had them saying, "Irrashaimasen!".
